Part of the answer is this: I love live music. I get fired-up anytime I get to see a band live. Not necessarily a great band either.

I occasionally go to a local bar on Friday afternoon and listen to the Pub Scouts. They are a rag-tag collection of local players who gather each Friday @ Duffy's Tavern to play Irish folk music. There's lots of socializing and many distractions, but I enjoy this experience intensely.

All that said. I never played football, but I watch it religiously and possess great knowledge of the sport. Me and Howard Cosell. I think you get the point.
